TAT - Real-time Travelling Stories Application
As a government organization we have access to a ton of online sources across the country, rich with reliable real life stories. By leveraging from these stories scattered online, the platform picks the best and updates the information instantly into a single mobile app.
Background
There are thousands of travel stories online, here in Thailand, a country that is dedicated to tourism. However, in many cases these stories can become outdated in a single night.
Often travellers get disappointed during their travels when they discover the information they read online was outdated or misleading.
As the Tourism Authority of Thailand, we always want our travellers to be happy each time they go and discover the Land of Smiles. Hence we introduced a mobile app with real-time travel stories, updated second by second by real people discovering real information as they travel.
Idea
As a government organization we have access to a ton of online sources across the country, rich with reliable real life stories. By leveraging from these stories scattered online, the platform picks the best and updates the information instantly into a single mobile app.
By simply choosing a destination, place of interest, hotel or a restaurant, the User can immediately get the most up-to-date story the minute they start using the app.
Results
Within the first week of launch the app become the number one free downloaded app in the Travel Category in Thailand.
By the second week the app became the number one free downloaded app in all categories, maintaining its number one rank for the entire month.
By the end of the first month the app was downloaded over 140 thousand times.
The app also received tons of reviews across the internet and social networks.
Whatever the results may show; these results were not as important as the smiles and happiness we provided to the Thai traveller.
